Female Health Physiotherapist (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Exciting opportunity for a Female Health Physiotherapist to provide exceptional medical services to all our Women's players.
The Role
We are looking for a Female Health Physiotherapist on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis to support our Women’s First Team medical performance programme and help deliver our AWFC Female Health Strategy.
You'll work closely with the Medical Performance Lead and wider Medical and Performance team to enhance player health, wellbeing and performance through female health and sports medicine initiatives. You will support the ongoing development of our Female Health Strategy and department, this will include all aspects of the seven pillars - Menstrual, Breast, Perinatal, Pelvic Health, MSK, Nutritional and Kit Resources. You'll also provide matchday support as part of the Medical and Performance team.

Your day-to-day
Lead the Female Health Strategy - you'll work closely with the Club Doctors to develop, implement and continually evolve AWFC's Female Athlete Health Strategy, while acting as one of our club's designated WSL Female Health Leads
Provide expert matchday support - you will act as Assistant Physiotherapist on matchdays and, where required, lead physiotherapy provision for fixtures in collaboration with the Head of Performance Services and Performance Physiotherapist
Coordinate player care through the pathway - you'll build relationships with Academy Medical staff and oversee communication regarding Academy players joining the First Team, as well as supporting the management of loan player medical care
Deliver world-class medical and performance support - you will work alongside the Medical and Physical Performance teams to enhance player health, wellbeing and performance, while supporting effective recovery and injury reduction strategies
Drive data-led decision making - you'll collect and analyse medical and performance data, identify injury trends and contribute to evidence-based strategies that improve performance and minimise injury risk
Maintain high standards and best practice - you will help develop departmental processes and standard operating procedures, ensuring all medical records, policies and practices remain compliant, accurate and aligned to industry best practice
Manage medical resources and operations - you'll support the organisation of medical equipment and consumables for training, matches and tours, while helping oversee the effective management of facilities and resources
Build relationships across our club - you will collaborate with technical, performance and recruitment staff, regularly reporting on player progress, maintaining confidentiality at all times and contributing to the ongoing development of the department
What we are looking for
Qualified and accredited practitioner - you hold an MSc in Physiotherapy, are HCPC registered, MCSP qualified and maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance
Female health specialist - you've achieved the FA Female Health Lead Certificate and bring an in-depth understanding of female athlete health and wellbeing within elite sport
Commitment to professional development - you can demonstrate a consistent record of continuous professional development and remain up to date with current clinical best practice
Knowledgeable in elite sport environments - you possess an in-depth understanding of sports science and medicine disciplines and their impact on athlete health, development and performance
Evidence-led approach - you're experienced in applying scientific methods to the assessment, monitoring and evaluation of athletes, programmes and performance interventions
Medical compliance expertise - you have a sound knowledge of FA Anti-Doping and WADA regulations and hold UK Clean Sport and Safeguarding certification
Prepared for high-performance environments - you hold a current FA AREA, ATMMiF or equivalent first aid qualification and are equipped to respond effectively in elite sporting settings
Flexible and highly organised - you're able to adapt to changing priorities, travel regularly with the team and work flexible hours and days including weekends
