Life at Arsenal For Naila
Why did you want to work with us at Arsenal and how did you apply/find your role?
When I first saw the role advertised on LinkedIn I didn’t believe it at first, it’s Arsenal FC, one of the biggest football clubs and it needs a Purchase Ledger Assistant!
I applied straight away as it combined a passion of mine, which is watching football, and the role itself was attractive as it was looking for someone experienced in accounts payable, which is exactly where my experience lies.
Tell us what a typical day looks like in your role?
My role has me responsible for overseeing invoices from suppliers, chasing approvals and checking invoices are approved so they can be paid on time. I'm entrusted with making sure suppliers are happy, so we receive a good service from them, so in the end the club will benefit overall.
What's your favourite thing about your role?
My favourite thing about the role is that I can combine the accounts side of things with football, for example, seeing invoices relating to matchdays or scouting! I find that fascinating and I am learning the ins and outs of a football club and all the pieces that it takes to keep it running.
