Senior Digital Marketing Executive (Acquisition)
An excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in determining how we attract supporters into our digital ecosystem and define how we keep them there and how we drive in app transactions.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Executive (Acquisition) to be responsible for the overarching marketing strategy of our app and to play a key role in defining how we bring supporters into our ecosystem, how we keep them there, and how we drive in app transactions.
Who we are
We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success – read more about our history, here.
Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).
Your day-to-day
- Attract new supporters to our digital ecosystem - you'll be tasked with developing and executing a robust approach to driving new supporters to our digital ecosystem and encourage app downloads through a focus on high-impact acquisition channels and tactics
- Create compelling campaigns - you will relish the opportunity to engage supporters and drive app conversions and will be entrusted to design and manage campaigns across email, social media, content marketing and programmatic channels, including the planning, launch and optimisation of paid campaigns across Google App campaigns, Meta and other channels
- Provide performance analysis and reporting - you'll track KPIs, analyse performance data and deliver actionable insights to improve campaign effectiveness
- Partner with a range of colleagues across our club - you will eagerly work closely with our Paid Media, and Data and Insights teams; to design and monitor full-funnel paid media plans to drive acquisitions into the app, and to conduct audience analysis to tailor digital campaigns that effectively generate high-quality leads and attract engaged supporters
- Oversee ASO (App Store Optimisation) - you'll be our go-to person to manage and optimise app store listings (Apple & Google Play) to maximise visibility and conversion rates
- Collaborate with the wider Commercial team - you'll form impactful relationships with peers responsible for other business areas such as retail, tickets, hospitality sales and partnerships to plan app exclusives which can be used as acquisition levers
- Align acquisition and retention campaigns - you will prioritise cohesive supporter engagement and leverage a deep understanding of commercial revenue drivers to deploy the most effective tools for acquisition
- Develop plans tailored to different supporter segments - you'll diligently leverage in-depth supporter insights to inform acquisition strategies across channels, enhancing personalisation and relevancy; tailoring plans to the unique needs and behaviours of supporters in the UK and US, adjusting tactics and messaging as needed
- Support Product Development and Design teams - you will ideate with colleagues to drive growth through innovation and evolve UX and UI, improving user journeys and designs that support the features well
- Manage project budgets - you'll oversee and allocate the acquisition budget strategically, maximising return on investment through efficient and targeted spending
What we are looking for
- Background in a user-focused and digital role - you've got a history of working across digital demand generation, customer acquisition, digital marketing or in a similar area, with a clear focus on mobile app acquisition
- App-first approach - you're equipped with an innate understanding of and experience implementing app first digital marketing tactics, email marketing, social media, and content marketing, with a detail orientated and analytical approach and a good understanding of app store optimisation best practices
- Data-driven mindset - you're well versed in analysing data, generating insights and making data-driven decisions
- Track record of collaborating with paid media teams - you've previously worked closely with in-house paid media teams or external agency specialists
- Creative thinker with excellent communication skills - you're an ideas person that's motivated by original and innovative thinking and you're able to articulate your thoughts to your colleagues in a clear and engaging way
- Flexibility and adaptability - you thrive when you're operating in a fast-paced, team oriented environment, adapting to the ever changing needs and requirements of a highly competitive industry
